Yeah, pretty good actually! It's funny driving it around - ask a Facebook expert and I'm sure they'd let me know that my car is about to be explode. Lol.

A fix is done, I'll write more about it once I've driven the car more to confirm it works for longer than 5 minutes, lol.

Cheers mate.

When do you think this blue nugget will be able to be tuned ??

Keen to see what is makes on the dyno

Hey mate!

As soon as I pull my finger out and ship Nathan from SMW down to our side of the nation and get him to put it on the hubs like we've planned haha!

We're estimating somewhere around 260-270awkw with the stock motor. More than that and we're risking lifting the heads - or worse. Good thing is, it's got fresh gaskets and everything else now.

Built motor... depends how brave we are. Lol.

Also - update. Spats are on, need to finish up the last couple bits, mount the wing and skirts, bonnet should hopefully not have any visible joins this time. So far so good!

Hey Tim,

What boost will you need to run to get this power ??

I'm guessing 6 to 8 psi ?

Thereabouts, probably peak around 10 depending on how much timing it gets in it. Knock isn't really a concern so much as peak combustion pressures. I'm not too fussed if it's a bit lower - lower is safer, not stressing the motor so badly until the new one is assembled.

Hey boys,

Unrelated to the timing chain, a con rod decided to go boom. I can attribute that to me being a spastic, I was driving the car on a tune I was doing as I went, and gave it a bootfull. I think the bottom end on that motor wasn't all that healthy anyway.

I've got the last of the parts needed for the built motor. So, I think I should get that done. Unfortunately, I've been flip-flopping between what I should do, which hasn't been great. Stock motor NA, throw another stock motor at it, or just build the freaking thing already.

I think we'll just build it. Benny has a spare motor for parts for me in Ararat so I think a drive up is due soon...

Ooh that sounds like a fun time… not good that it made some windows.

Hope you have it back together soon and far better than before!

Oh, thats not ideal, but at least it's semi easily fixed...
Yes, build it. Might cost a smidge, but you've already bought 90% of the bits...
And more yes, come get your shite Got so many little bits here waiting for you as well as the engine, be good to clear out my shed a bit more lol

I didn't see the forum had logged me out, so missed this thread update!

Cheers,
Ben
