About 6 guy's at work have iphones (yes they're nerds) and at least 4 of them regret buying it. If you try and do anything more than make basic phone calls and like the wankyness that is Apple, you'll have no problems.

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

iPhone is too expensive for the already outdated unit in my opinion.

New Nokia N97 is on its way, Nokia N96 is an alright phone ... I've had a few problems with it such as lock ups, however that has been whilst playing music. The phone could be quicker, but I believe Nokia will fix this with their next (decent) firmware upgrade.

The Sony Ericsson K850i is a fairly decent lower priced phone now (not new, so has dropped in price). 5MP camera, all the bells and whistles and no slide function. Moving parts are often where a phone fails first. N96 slider feels rather pathetic.

My dad just bought the new Samsung 'iphone killer', forget the model now but it runs CE, which is a fail. I bought a LG KU990 not long ago and I dont like it, I dont think i'll get a touchscreen again.

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

Coming from a history of both Nokia, and SE phones... I would have to say that honestly the Sony way of phone menu systems and features is the best. It is a lot different to Nokia, but once you get used to it you can see the logic behind how they've done it. If you get offered a nice SE phone, don't let the alienating menu put you off - you'll get the hang of it sooner or later. If not, take a baseball bat to it.

I'm over mobile phones. Wanker technology. I have my N95, and it does too much to necessitate its needs for me. I'll be downgrading. All I need is something with MP3 tones, Bluetooth, 3G and a decent mp camera. I don't need the other shite.

1 nice feature I must admit of the newer, symbian based nokia phones is the GPS feature. I think it is smart to combine many things in to one, mp3 player, simple digital camera that is still capable of the occasional good quality phone, and gps in a mobile phone to me makes sense - simply because they are all useful and they work.

thats basiclly what i want....

but i come from line of phones nokia, phillips, motorola and now all offer simillar stuff but ay too much stuff for everyday needs, and they all look and feel cheap

yes joe but there is also that wanky factor of owning a good phone not just having a $59 dollar special

My contract has just run out aswell but i'm waiting for the Sony Ericsson W705 to be released. I've always had SE, never had a problem with them.
