so thinking of drift pipes for my gen2, 2.5L
as a tempory exhaust fix i was going to cut my rear muffler out compltely and put some drift pipes on, one because the rear muffler is entirely knackered but also i love the look of it and its a cheap fix which will be good because im broke.
so it currently has a 2inch cat back exhaust with only a rear lukey muffler, anyone know how loud this will be ?
also i think my cat is right up in the engine bay? is this normal i thought they were usually more towards the driver seat.
drift pipes are 2inch into twin 2.5 inch as im later going to do an entire 2.5 cat back system
thoughts ????
also have a set of GC8 headers just waiting to go on, just need a lil spare cash to get them fitted up and lengthed to meet up to the exhaust

A crap one or a hot dog, you car will sound shit.
A good one or even the stock one, it mightn't be too bad.

Sounds like arse. Turn down your speakers for the first video, it's loud.
The B4 with straight pipes sounds much better:

On my B4 I have an exhaust cutout valve (as shown in video)I am running a hotdog and a cat only. Sounds awesome.
It opens it so that it has a cat only, not even a resonator. And it's not even THAT loud.
But the turbo's restrict the sound, if you had that set-up on an NA you'd blow you ears out.

+1.
A turboz muffles the sound too.
