Subaru will exhibit the VIZIV future generation crossover concept at the 83rd Geneva International Motor Show, starting March 5.

The concept includes new design and technology elements, while the VIZIV model name is inspired by the phrase “Vision for innovation.”

Subaru will also premiere the automatic Subaru Outback diesel, with a Lineartronic™ Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) – the first time a horizontally-opposed Boxer diesel engine has been mated to a CVT.

The CVT offers smooth driving and fuel efficiency while enhancing the sporty power delivery of the diesel engine.

Adaptive control and manual shifting are among the features that deliver fun-to-drive character.

Outback diesel CVT will be launched in Australia around April this year.

New generation Forester will also make its European show debut in Geneva.

2013 marks the 55th anniversary of the Subaru brand and the 40th year in Australia.

The Geneva exhibits will span the years, with the display of a Subaru 360, launched in 1958, right up to the VIZIV concept.

A special website is running http://www.subaru-gl.../ms2013/geneva/ focused on Subaru’s Geneva exhibits.

Subaru’s press conference is scheduled at 0915 Geneva time on March 5.

Geneva International Motor Show press days are March 5 and 6. The show is open to the public from March 7-17.
