I want to buy a CD stacker for my '98 RX. It has the stock head unit installed. Just wondering about compatibility with the stock head unit; would newer CD stackers still plug into my old HU? Or do I have to look for an older model cd stacker so it plugs in? Obviously I'm unsure of this topic, so any help would be appreciated :) ~ shiv

IIIRC there is no way to plug them in. You'll have to upgrade the head unit.

Hhmmm, okay. I suspected that might be the case.

Are CD changers only compatible with the same manufactured CD player? ie; Clarion HU with Clarion changer/stacker. Or is it an age thing? ie; a 10-yr (ish) old cd player mated to a 10-yr old cd changer?

If its the later, I might buy a used system off eBay or something. Anyone know??

hey shiv you might want to check if they still make stackers with an fm modulator... that way you can keep your existing HU and tune your stacker into one of your radio stations... just a thought...

I didn't know you could do that. Thanks for that Joe, I'll keep that in mind in case I can't get Tristan's one to work with my HU.

Factory sound system is Clarion. Not bad really. The only real upside to an AUDM liberty :P.
