Ive never liked the bright red rear tail lights of the STi...makes it look too toy-ish. So....

fair enough thats your opinion. I think it makes the car(especially a black car) look much classier. The bright red tail lights just dont go with the black car and gunmetal rims(which will soon be black also).
The pics dont do it justice also.

Bit dark IMHO, but I get the thought pattern.
I love that my GTB has factory tinted/smoked tails, really compliments the Burgundy...

I personally wouldn't have done the clear parts of the lights but it looks heaps tougher!

Ill take some wide angle pics tomorrow to show how it looks from a far. The above pic infact does make it look a little ricey.
Im very happy with the result....has changed the entire attitude of the car.

I like it and can't decide whether it's too dark or not, but it wouldn't be legal I don't think man. Keen to see pics from another angle though.

Wanting to buy/looking for: single genuine STi rim, genuine STi front lip, Corazon or Zero/Sports grille and another OEM grille

haha Indeed!
The more i look at the rear of the car now...the more I wonder why Subaru didnt go with smoked/carbon tail lights. It looks so much more aggressive. The bright red lights look so out of place to me anyway...
Incase you didnt realise, i smoked the rear foglight also. Heres another pic again with crappy iphone camera:

Just give them a good polish.

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

Real nice man! I like it a lot actually... ;)

I'm gonna be getting one of these for my wagon; Gialla or Hanabi. I still haven't decided which one I like best yet.

Just give them a good polish.

will any normal car polish work? or do i specially need rubbing compound?
Im assuming this will just make it a little shinier? not lighter?

how do they light up at night?

They look spectacular at night. Still very bright, with a smoked look.
The poor pics abive make them look VERY blacked out...They are smoked, but not blacked out.
WIll take pics tomorrow to let everyone decide for themselves :)

It will cut through the paint slightly and lighten it a little, plus make them shinny as hell to which will look made. As a few others have stated, probably a few shades on the dark side IMO
