Hey guys

I have a MY06 wrx with the following mods:

- sti turbo
- sti intercooler
- 3" turbo back xforce exhaust with cannon
- tuned with ECUTEK
- short shift kit

I got a cannon put on a few months back to increase the noise and the exhaust guys said the only thing I was missing was a 200 cell cat or even a 100 cell cat. He said it will make it a whole different machine haha and I know that after you get it done you also need it tuned. Is it worth getting this mod done? What is the rough power outcome? Would it pass emissions tests? And what would the rough dB of the exhaust be in the end?

Thanks

That'd be your second post. If you look to the left, it counts for you!

Did he say what cat you are running?
I thought the X-Force TBE came with a 100 cell high flow cat?

Careful.

Take a look under your car and see if has a O2 sensor infront of the cat and one behind it. (2006 was the start of this emmission requirement in Oz)
If so, this is to monitor cat performance so installing a less efficient cat (lower cell count than standard) may cause the ecu to log a code.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Hey mate and welcome.
Not exactly sure what you mean't by it was "missing" a cat, but emissions wise, if you get EPA'd and you don't have 2 cats just like you're stock exhaust you won't pass an emissions test, and highly unlikely you would pass a dB test either.
...Though they have to catch you first

haha nah missing a cat meant the only performance thing left to do was upgrade the cat from a 400 cell to a 200 cell or 100 cell
