hey guys, looking at removing my unichip as the tune is rubbish and its killing the car,

upon chasing wiring back I found this,

does anyone know what this module is?

The small module with the blue dot is the Unichip boost controller

Ah cool. I'm thinking they causing my issues. Boost is jut over 1 bar. No boost under 3000rpm. Detonation above 6000.
Looks like a bit of work to remove

This is an interceptor type unit.

I would just do some bridging via the plugs.

Then you will have just the wire with the resistor to connect

Thus easily reversible:

Ashley, have you had any experience with these unichip piggybacks and do you know if they would be suited to the earlier model hitachi ecu?

Originally installed  a Unichip on my WRX with the UNISIA JECS ECU.

Then transferred to my B4 with DENSO ECU
