Does anyone know what could cause the CEL to come on but go out once the revs drop back to idle?

Happens every now and then but does not log any codes. So I don't know what it is.

Sounds like a dodgy knock sensor if it goes when the car settles.

Oh I found something about this on here I think. My exhaust might be causing it, I noticed today I may not have screwed the downpipe into the block. It had a hanger but doesn't seem to have a bolt in it.

As it doesn't happen everytime, only every now and then. I will bolt it down and see if it goes away.

Cheers.

Mine was doing a similar thing and eventually the light stayed on. Turned out to be the rear O2 sensor.

Good luck man.

Depending on your ECU, it takes 3 faults to log a code. Must happen in a single trip. Otherwise is just brings up the light for as long as the fault is there. Some faults will log codes after its there for a certain period of time, but it depends on the sensor.

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. To be stripped and scrapped in time.

Yeah it just doesn't happen all the time, So cant pin point what I do at the time it comes on. But will go out as soon as the revs drop to idle.

Still have not worked it out lol, but car doesnt run bad when its on..

None get logged, I have checked and no codes come up when I connect the to plugs.

Maybe I need to go for a longer drive and get it to come up 3 times lol.
