Grant's Frankenstein Gen 3
Grant 29 Jul 2013
As some of you may know, I am the proud owner of a new car!
I've been on the lookout for a while for an 02-05 wrx sti, purely because I've been wanting something newer than my 20yr old RS, and something that's easier to get power out of, not to mention all the other cool bits that come along with the sti badge.
Word was out that fellow subyclub member and friend Matt was thinking of selling his pride and joy to head in a different direction, I'd always told him that if he was ever going to sell it that I'd want it...the amount of workmanship and thought poured into this thing still astounds me. I figured that this was everything I could ever want in a sti, but in a liberty shell (cool factor is now way higher, not to mention the unassuming factor!). Long story short, bank loans were sorted out (thanks Shaz!), deals were made, and the keys were handed over on Friday night to the incredibly happy new owner (aka, me).
This thing is absolutely a dream to drive, perfect and very liveable around town, but put the foot down or throw it into a corner and it comes into it's element, it's a hoot! Power delivery is completely different to the RS, and third gear onwards you really feel the 230kw
Here's Matt's build thread showcasing all the hard work that's been put into this car: http://www.subyclub....e-story-so-far/
In short, it's a 2002 Gen 3 RX liberty (I'll update the mod list fully in future)
2003 JDM sti conversion done by AM Auto (brembos, EJ207, 6 speed, the lot)
TD05-20g, billet wheel
FMIC, custom piping by AM Auto
Process West CAI
3" custom exhaust, Hitech mufflers, by AM Auto
Tein coilovers
Whiteline everything, and I mean pretty much everything
Tune by MSR, 230kw at all four
Work CR Kais 18x7.5 +48 I think
Bridgestone Potenza RE-11s (holy shit they're good)
Plus countless other things that I will list eventually!
Some pics have been attached, once I take delivery of my new camera I'll pop some better ones up.
Matt has put a lot of trust in me to look after this awesome piece of machinery, so I hope to keep that trust intact by keeping up the standards that this has been modified to...stay tuned!
Cheers, Grant

Haha I wouldn't waste my time , it's so nice driving a car that is 10 years newer! Ye olde RS still puts a smile on my face though, I'll miss the old girl when I sell it.

What is the ATW power on this puppy!
230kw
Have the dyno sheet at home which I'll scan and put up when I get the chance. With a better intercooler core and fresh tune the tuner reckons it'd reach 250kw quite easily
