Hey guys i have a 98 gen2 sedan liberty RX billie.

the clutch is shagged so my plan is to put a exedy standard replacment in and machine the flywheel

but Just need to clear up the isuue of DM flywheel,

i DONT want a DM but what i need to know is does my car have one from factory?

also my gear shifter itself is sloppy like it moves around too easily/too much

What do i need to replace to fix this

Huge thanks in advance for the help i know i will get here =)

I assume all of the gen 2 models do not have a dual mass flywheel; my gx doesn't so I would think the same for the rx.

There are kartboy shifter bushings available from car mods australia who are a vendor on here.

I replaced these but there is still some sloppiness..

There is a connector that connects the shift linkage to the rear of the gearbox and I am pretty sure that is the source. You may also want to replace that if you are concerned.

Sweet thanks HEAPS Josh,

Single mass flywheel is what im hoping for so i can just give it a light machining to clean it up and a new clutch =)

As for the sloppy shifter, will a short shifter kit include the parts i need to fix the problem?
I seen some kits from Kartboy

Not sure what the short shifter would include. You'd be better off asking kartboy about that. They may do a deal for buying all the parts at once. Good luck with it.

Hi Dan - how's things? Haven't caught up since that evening at Ferrari.

When your gearbox is out to do the clutch you will see the part of the shifter that is sloppy. It's usually the front bushings that go, so replacing the back bushing may not be much improvement. If it is really bad it may be the bushes in the shifter itself. If you pull the gearstick boot off you should be able to see the ones I'm talking about.

...btw the outback is running like a charm :)

Good luck mate

Hey Josh, yeah im really well thanks.
How you been,

Yeah sweet, its not extremely sloppy but its bad, ill just replace everything i can as the parts are cheap and i can do it myself. Bought a rear shifter bush off Tim off here  (kartboy)

will have to order the other ones, might put a short shifter in while im there,

Glad to hear the out backs running well =)
