F5000 Samsung ain't that great Nik... I was looking at the F6400 which is better, but still not that good either... Now that they have the 7000 and I think the 8000 series ones, the 5000 series is probably run out stock of an older series that isn't that great

I have measured up, and I like the 50" over the 55", just because I'm a touch anal about the space around the screen being even.

I have measured up, and I like the 50" over the 55", just because I'm a touch anal about the space around the screen being even. 

 

Only 2 HDMI ports might be a bit limiting.

Your opinion on this matter is actually wrong, a 5000 series is not a run out model, it is current. Samsung bring out a 3 series - 9 series every year, the letter is what makes it a new model,

in this case it's an F5000, F is the 2013 model. No different to how subaru bring out the same models of the Liberty every year, GX, RX, GT so on and so forth
