They're definitely doing well! I was surprised with Chelsea's loss this morning to be honest as well... Let's just hope that Manchester United are able to sap up as many points as they can before the season is over; they play Everton in about 10 minutes.

i really doubt you're the only one. i don't think anyone except maybe the staunchest one eyed Black Cats supporter could have said that wasn't honestly a surprise. taking all the points against Chelsea and holding citeh to a point in the week, yes please i'll have a bit of that action

your lads better be up for it tonight as Everton look pretty fired up from the off. 6th is the obvious goal for you but without a win tonight that looks like a pretty large task. Coleman, Mirallas and Barkley are going to cause you call sorts of problems i suspect

Yeah it was a pretty shocking game. Ramires should've been sent off for smacking Larsson across the face; the referee was literally right in front of the incident and called play on without cautioning Ramires whatsoever. Well deserved in my opinion.
Tell me about it, and Nani will be playing for the first time in three or four months. Rooney will be wearing the captain's band. We'll see how we go. Fingers crossed.
Well cross all that out; we're already down 2-0. Are you forking kidding me?

Tell me about it. So many chances and they couldn't convert at least one of them. They're gone for the season; they were gone many weeks ago. This Moyes bloke really has got to buckle down and make sure that a repeat of this doesn't happen next season (if he lasts that long).

As I think Everton are showing WITHOUT Moyes, they are actually a side who should have been striving to be more than being best of the rest as they did for 10 years under DM. The irony of that is its exactly where United now find themselves. I can't see how he can keep his job as I don't see how he can take them forward

I agree.
His days are numbered and I personally think that he will be gone before the start of the next season. He has been given chance after chance and he blows it. Some of the players are to blame as well so there needs to be something done before Manchester United can get back up to their world renowned standard.
There are three more games left; Norwich City, Sunderland and Southampton. Can we secure the final nine points at least?!

I just found a few pictures from the celebrations after Benfica confirmed their first place finish in the Portuguese league after beating Olhanense:

His days are numbered
Looks like the balls rolling. Bookmakers have suspended all betting on Moyes losing the gig and all the talk out of OT is that an announcement is imminent (likely our Wednesday). Moyes out, Giggs and Nicky Butt in as caretakers until the end of the season. All of the coaching staff DM bought with him with the exception of Chris Wood are set to be released as well.
Lucky for united (or unlucky depending on how you look at it) the early termination payout will be minimal (the miserly sum of 5 million pounds or there abouts) as DM has failed to meet any of the KPI's set out in his contract at the start of the season.
So whos the man for the Job now?
After SAF no one in their right mind would have taken that job on as the boots were just to big to fill but now that DM as run amok in the place and turned it to season long joke i think there will be a lot more real contenders putting their hands up for a crack. this year may actually work out to be a blessing in disguise

I knew it. He wasn't gonna last long. I'm not surprised they haven't let him continue until the end of the season. He was simply the wrong person for the job. I wouldn't be surprised if Giggs and Nicky Butt manage the team better than he did to be honest. Although none of this is confirmed yet, Manchester United have refused to deny that it is forthcoming.
From what I've read, there are a few managers that have been spoken about:
- Louis van Gaal (manager of the Netherlands)
- Jüergen Klopp (manager of Borussia Dortmund)
- Diego Simeone (manager of Atletico Madrid)
- Lauren Blanc (manager of Paris Saint-Germain)
All of which, in my opinion, would do a better job than Moyes. I don't want to pick and choose but I will have an opinion once a replacement has been announced. Hopefully the Glazer family make a wiser decision this time.

Ryan Giggs should see the team through until the end of the season before a new manager is chosen.

I honestly doubt Klopp will leave Dortmund for United at this time. Obviously a great coach but timing isn't right for him. Don't really know why he would be seriously considered and find it very unlikely that Blanc would be chosen.
Simeone and Van Gaal make the most sense to me.
Simeone for the fact that he's a young manager doing great things at Athletico. Given time he could build a team that would no doubt be successful. Obviously doesn't have the experience and that can either go against you ie: AVB/Moyes or if you're ready, Mourhino/Rogers.
LVG makes sense because of his experience with big clubs like Bayern, Ajax and Barca. Silverware is expected.
I also think Frank Doer could be worth a look. He can't really take Ajax any further and is ready to step up to a bigger club.
I suspect that whoever it is will sign for three years and be given two to show they're the man for the job. If it doesn't play out United should then go after JK with vigor and do whatever they need to get him
