Hi all

Bought some second hand 17' wrx wheels (2 BCT S800 and 2 Champiro GT's) and there's always been a loud humming noise coming from the tyres (mainly rear). Had them balanced at bob jane when i got them. I've tried out different tyre pressures and have not noticed a change.

I originally thought the tyres wore in on his car with his camber and all, then them being put on my car with different camber might make the tyres move around more, I’ve put another 7000 kms in thinking the tread would change to suit my camber.

Just wondering what could cause the noise and vibrations.

ps. Don’t want to put $600 into new tyres only to find out that it is the wheels are causing the problem.

Cheers

They sound like cheap Chinese tyres which usually make a LOT of noise.

The vibration is probably due to a wheel not being balanced properly. I had cheap tyres on my old car at one stage and the tyre shop said they were nearly impossible to balance and they always had a slight vibration.

Does sound like tyres. Cracked rim can cause problems i believe.
