Oh hai

Katie didn't quite close the tail gate on Saturday so the light had completely drained the battery. Tried to charge it up using jumper leads on the Calais but that no worky. Called the NRMA and they jumped it for me with no dramas. He left and I took it for a drive to charge her up.

I promptly noticed that the speedo and tacho gauges weren't moving and the odo/out temp display was blank...

Weird...

Did some Googling and some dude had the exact same issue (flat battery > jump start > cluster issues)

Looks like the jump has sent a surge through the system. All he had to do was unplug and replug the 'dash module' a few times and it worked again.

Does anyone know what the dash module is? Is it just one or both of the two plugs that connect the cluster? Or something else?

How serious is getting a surge from a jump?

Cheers

Might be worth disconnecting the battery, leave it for a bit and reconnect it. May work

Hi,

First thing I'd check is if the car is upside down.

Cheers,

Nik

Pull the negative terminal off, Decharge the system, Throw it back on and see what you get.

May need to re-boot everythang'

If not, Start checking fuses.

Surges are nasty, Nasty things.

Yep!

If it did, I'd be hitting up the NRMA for damage control ;)

Nah don't think it's the guy I know. He's a shortish darker skined guy.
