Hey guys and girls,

I am completely lost as to what I can do, my WRX died on the freeway a few weeks ago while I was on boost in fourth gear, driving at about 90 kph, when I rolled to a stop, the car would turn over and start but then stalled after about 3-5 seconds. I had it towed home, and have tried everything but it still doesn't start and idle, it runs for about 5 seconds max, sometimes it misses a bit and sometimes it seems to run smoothly for those couple of seconds. If I touch the throttle the car stalls immediately.

Things I have done

  • checked fuel pump
  • drained and cleaned fuel tank
  • checked fuel lines
  • checked fuel pressure
  • checked fuel filter
  • tested afm
  • checked for any popped hoses

when my mobile mechanic came past he said that the fuel pressure was good but it was not constant, but believes that this is not an issue.

I thought maybe the alarm was the problem but mine is not the original brant so I don't know how to check,

I would love if anyone who knows about these cars could come and take a look (I can supply beer lol)

or if anyone could recommend someone that is mobile. I am located in Bella Vista NSW.

I am sure it is probably something so simple, like a sensor, but its not throwing an engine light and I am not sure how I could check the computer for any codes (apexi power fc)

Any help Would be greatly appreciated :)

So is any of the Brant system still in it?
Does it have another alarm in it?

If you disable the immobiliser altogether it'll void your insurance cover if you were to have an accident though.

the fuel pump in it is a walbro, not too sure what model, I am thinking that disabling the alarm completely might be a good idea, its got the original Subaru keyless entry buttons, the siren sometimes goes off but its so quiet I can hardly hear it. there is no mounted keypad... is it simple to remove/ disable the alarm?

Ha! Asking how to disable an alarm on a public forum. Maybe speak to an auto electrician.

I'm sure you're legit, but it's probably best not to advertise this information.
