According to the Philips website, DiamondVision is 5000k ultimate white light and CrystalVision is 4300k bright white light. I have always understood the DiamondVision to be pure white light and CrystalVision to be off white light...
Whitest possible HALOGEN globes

I have 4300k hids in my car and they seem to have a yellowy tinge at times.

And that explains the off white. I'd go DiamondVision either way man.

The blue coating on the globe would explain the 'blueish' colour of the Diamond vision?
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

I had the Diamond Vision, they were as Jase described above,
I recently changed to the X-treme vision, and while they went to a slightly yellowish colour, they were a big improvement from the Diamonds.
Just food for thought on going for the white or blue colour lighting.
I should just convert to single, right?As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;
"My eye is watering, this might be a bit hot"

Further distance and better coverage. That's just what I found.
The X-tremes would be even better not in built up area.

When I bought the Commonwhore it had Philips globes with a blue tint in the glass.
Couldn't see a forking thing at night (I do a reasonable amount of night highway driving) so I flung them in the bin and put in some +30%, either Narva or Philips and the difference was unbelievable. Better than the HIDs in the RB, but then I have never thought that HID's were any good. Bright yes, throwing light a long distance, no.
If you think about it, blue light is closer to the ultra violet end of the spectrum and therefore will scatter more readily than light closer the the infa-red end of the spectrum. I guess this is why the sky is blue (the sunlight's ultra violet rays scatter in the atmosphere) and infa-red light is used to see thing in low or zero ambient light.
The Philips website indicates that as the colour rises to 5000k, the distance is reduced.
In an attempt to improve the high beams in the RB I will be fitting +100% globes like the Extreme vision.

Possibly, but I've not noticed any sort of blue coming from them that's all. When they reflect on my garage door they are as white as can be. I do agree with you in regards to the Philips X-tremeVision bulbs though. I've got them for my high beams and BOY do they light things up! I bought the +100% which gives me about a 35 m beam. Works wonders when driving on the highway. Definitely something to consider.
So far my light set up is as follows:
- Parker lights - Philips Ultinon LED (white light; 6000K)
- Low beams - Philips DiamondVision (ultimate white light; 5000K)
- High beams - Philips X-tremeVision +100%
- Foglights - Philips DiamondVision (ultimate white light; 5000K)
