On to bigger and better. I'll be watching this with interest.
Have you considered a 257 short block?

207 is heaps stronger compared to the 257.

Doing an engine conversion in my lib was the best thing I ever did. I can't imagine the shit i would have to deal with owning an s15 or something along the lines of that shit

Only just read this thread, really glad I saw it.
"Excited to start the car for the first time after having it off the road for near 5 months, I was bleeding the clutch and had removed a cable from the starter solenoid make room to swing the spanner. Put the intercooler back on, Clutch in and turn the key .....Nothing! I was devastated. Then remembered I had disconnected the cable from the starter solenoid."
This was me the first time I went to start it up, had taken that same wire off and forgot. I also had nothing but the dump pipe, but got some vids of the sound lol.

Not sure if ESL support 99-01 B4/GT yet. Eculabs have just finished development for these though (just had confirmation from Emmanuel last night actually). Same idea as ESL.
Hope things progress well over the next couple of weeks Tim!

The shop's reopened so it should be being worked on as of today.

By the way, with ESL and Eculabs I think it's just a matter of loading a single turbo map to the existing ecu if you ever want to remove one turbo. If your happy with Ecutek though that's cool as Sean is a good bloke and knows his stuff.

So I went for the rebuild option, the heads were reco'd and fitted to a new 207 short motor from Subaru. For the first 1000kms it's just being run in with the boost bridged. I am trying to keep it under 5k rpm and to stay off boost all together which is proving to be very hard!
In a week or so, it'll go back for a re-tune and should hopefully be all sweet.
It's very enjoyable to be driving again and have it back at home. I think i'll spend most of the long weekend cleaning and detailing it, not that it's dirty!

Well the car's been back and forth to the shop for some troubleshooting. The boost bridge was removed (I think this is a fancy way of saying it was running wastegate pressure) so it's back to the factory plumbing but boost did not return back to normal. It was only running about 12psi, changeover was terrible like it's opening the ECV way too quickly and too early which was causing secondary to either take too long to spool or giving the DPS grief and throwing a 66 light.
It's just a wait now til the root of the problem is found. A bit relieved though that I didn't do the engine rebuild myself otherwise this issue would be mine to deal with - and dealt with by means of 'a can of petrol'.

Engine rebuild pt 3.
Oh, I didn't really update this with the root problem and resolution. A little plumbing problem when it was put back together - both wastegate and ecv duty solenoids bleed ports were 'joined together' instead of being tee'd back into the air intake piping, causing all sorts of issues. Needless to say it's all sweet again after this was sorted, has been re-tuned and now running 20psi.
