Epic DIY high flow thermostat fail

So time had come to do the timing belt on the Rex, so upon replacing water pump and thermostat came accross this great thermostat done by the pervious owner !! Surprised nothing went wrong with my car :-/

I wonder if he was chasing an overheating issue?
Dickhead none the less.
Must have taken ages to warm up.

Yea took a long time but just thought it was normally being my first Rex , guess he was to cheap to buy a new thermostat
