I tell you, Australians know
all about good service - especially in hospitality.
Because we don't live off tips

Exactly, people get paid way too much over here, which is why service is poor.
The funny thing is, most people that do tip do so when they go out for a really flash meal where the waitstaff are on mid $30's an hour.

It's all relative.
Things are generally more expensive in Australia.
We earn heaps compared to many places but it's sure costs way more to live than many places too!

You may have bought one first but I've been talking about them for yeeears!!!

We'll agree to disagree there, Morgan. I don't think anyone is worth nearly $50/hr to wash dishes/ run food.
But then I'm on the wrong end of it, aren't I!
All I'm saying is that customer service in Australia is terrible, and there's no excuse for it that I entertain.

I did, that's just normal rates at a linen service restaurant, between $29-$37 depending on level. But throw in a Sunday or a Public Holiday - mate... it's insane. They wonder why so many small businesses close on Public Holidays, it's because even if you take double over the counter, you're paying double++++ wages, so it's a lot of craziness for no reward!
Public holiday rates?
Yeah, sorry, I took a bit of poetic licence with my rant - just because this time of year is forking penalty rate city!!!!!!!!!!

New chick basically did a dance when she found out what I was paying her hourly.
Haha.
She works hard though. Unlike others who think 'holiday' means go to work and have one...

Had one the other day, and I shit you not, said;
"Oh, I'm just so tired, I've come to work so I can have a bit of a rest"
Dead set. Dad was in the office with me as well.
We were speechless.
Yeah
paying for that!
But thenworking public holidays and sundays if its not worth it $$$ wise
Yeah, I don't blame the staff at all, it is the law - so we just close (like today) - which is what they never think about, because if you ask all your casual staff what they'd prefer, to work for normal rate, or not work at all and not get paid... which do you think they'd prefer?
Fuckin' unions. Anyway.
Let's not get Nik started!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
