Subaru-Levorg-Concept-26.jpg

Subaru has released some new videos of the Levorg, ahead of its launch in May.

Described as a "real sports tourer," the Levorg has a familiar design that closely resembles the concept that debuted at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show.

While the video is in Japanese, Subaru has already announced the production model will be offered with two different four-cylinder engines including a turbocharged 1.6-liter with 170 HP (125 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque and a turbocharged 2.0-liter with 300 HP (221 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. Both engines will be connected to a continuously variable transmission and an all-wheel drive system.

Subaru will begin accepting pre-orders on January 4th and Japanese pricing starts at ¥2,667,600.

I really like it. If I had the money, I'd probably put a pre-order on it to be honest. A few mods and this wagon would look forking amazing. I'd like to hear of an STi model to be released as well. :D

Is that price correct? So it'd be about A$28,436.39? Not bad, not bad at all. It'll be double if not triple that by the time it hits our shores.

yeah i don't mind it either. i'm sure after the required usual mods it could actually be a pretty cool wagon. i'd probably wait to see the series 2 with a revised front end though

Indeed. It'd only need a few modifications to actually make it look pretty awesome as well. No need to go overboard.

+1 on the like. Would look sweet with some low and rims. Shame about the auto only though

Auto doesn't bother me in the slightest. I was gonna say that the Levorg lowered with some nice rims would be perfect. I like the stock rims as well, so long as they're 18".

I don't get where this fits in.

Is it the new Legacy GT wagon, sold now as a compliment to the Legacy sedan and renamed? Or is it smaller than what a Legacy wagon would be? To me it looks like the proportions of an Impreza hatch, stretched to wagon size, thus fitting in between Legacy and Impreza.

I couldn't see Subaru Aus selling this AND the new Gen6 wagon. Perhaps it's signalling the end of the GT wagon? Hear  me out, this is how i think it fit's in size wise:

Medium Hatch : Impreza
Medium Sedan : Impreza
Medium Performance : WRX / STI
Medium Performance Wagon : Levorg
Large Sedan : Legacy
Large Sedan Performance : Legacy GT
Large Wagon : Legacy/Outback
Large Wagon Performance : Legacy GT
People Mover : Exiga

I think the new wrx is only being released in a sedan. And there wont be a Turbo impreza at all now.

I think it's replacing the liberty/Legacy
We probably won't get the Levorg name but rebadge liberty
Looks so great
Looks better then the WRX sedan

Highly doubt it will replace the Liberty/Legacy due to the engines it runs, CVT only transmission and size. I would think like i said earlier it may fill a niche between the WRX sedan and Gen6 GT wagon. Also i would say it's highly unlikely we would even receive this model.

Not that hard to understand. It's a WRX wagon that has been softened up for the family and businessman market. But at the end of the day its probably on the same level as a Gen4 Legacy GT Wagon. The new Legacy will just be another boat.

I meant the styling, auto only, etc lol. That is a ton of power from that 2ltr :) who needs an STi - or rather, what will the STi be capable of. I am keen to check them out when they drop into the mid 20's. That is, if we even get it here in Australia.
