Buyers of Subaru's BRZ coupe, first launched in Australia some 18 months ago, can finally hammer out a deal in local showrooms - instead of on their computer keyboards.

Initial supply restraints saw Subaru Australia take to the internet for BRZ sales, managing the entire enquiry, deposit and purchase process through its consumer website.

The innovative approach worked, with the company's initial Australian allocation selling out in less than three hours.

Supply improved through 2013 and around 1800 BRZs have been sold since launch - but until this week, all sales were managed through the same online process.

Increased production in Japan means that Subaru is now able to answer demand across its Australian dealer network.

Its great for our customers, because they have the choice of buying online at a driveaway price, or using the more traditional dealer method," Subaru Australia boss Nick Senior said.

Its also great for dealers in our network, which have the opportunity to display one of Australias most popular sports cars in their showroom.

The BRZ's price also remains unchanged in 2014, with a 'recommended National Driveaway Price' of $37,150 for the six-speed manual model, and $39,730 for the six-speed auto.

The BRZ, along with its development twin the Toyota 86, was declared The Motor Report's Best Buy of 2012, announced in January last year.
