what tracks are you planning on going to? Eastern Creek is probably the only one you can easily get over 180kph on.

Its a setting in the ECU - Most tuning shops will be able to log into the ECU and either lift it to a point you cant reach it or turn it off. Ecutek can remove it completely, but you will have to actually ask to have it removed. They will not do it without being asked.

Cheers,

Ben

MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. To be stripped and scrapped in time.

Man just get either and chipped ecu with the speed cut removed (mines, prova, zerosports, jun etc) or get a speed cut defender (hks, pivot, sard, blitz etc). You can probably get a secondhand ecu for $250-$350 on eBay. Speed cut defender you can pick up new for around $120. The SCD I had in my legacy was also a digital rev counter with shift and peak warning function which was handy on the track

you can't tune your ecu without a piggyback

can't do anything with the V3 ECU apart from cutting in a speed cut defender. prova/zerosports etc ecu is the go.

That ECU can't be tuned.

You will need a piggyback.

Get a Haltech Interceptor if you want it on the cheap, Then head to JEM for a tune.

should be able to get hold of an early Interceptor for about $300
1/2 hour to wire it in ans set up the speed cut.,
Also allows you to up the boost cut setting>

Wire in your wideband to one of teh analogue inputs, do a bunch of pulls and log it, you'll most likely be able to lean it off a reasonable amount too (V3 ecu is pretty rich)

Had one in my TT legacy with GTB ECU (basically the same engine and V3 STi)
