hey guys when going to an r180 rear diff are there any driveshafts i can get where i wont have to change the rear hubs to r180 ones???  will 01 sti shafts slot straight into my original hubs? or will i have to get custom ones made?


95 Gen 2 gx series 1 with rx body kit built 207 on v2 sti heads, running gear, FMIC,twisted ATP GTX3076 Turbo setup :D

BL/BP, some late models had R180 rears and still used the standard 5 x 100.

R180 shafts are thicker and have a larger spline at the wheel end if you reduce it back to the standard size you will create a weak point at the hub and with the torque you will be pushing you will break the shafts at the end! the shafts will end up costiing you more in the long run than converting it properly to begin with

What do you mean converting it properly?
So all the Tb STi Liberty's getting around have weak CV shafts?

I mean use the whole r180 setup. i have heard some cars were made with an r180 and the shafts have r160 outer ends which may be fine for standard but add a whole heap of extra power and the thinnest point is usually the weak point. so the thick shafts of the r180 would be let down by the r160 spline
