hello people

been awile since i checked in on what everyone was doing, how is everyone?

now my coolant leak, the leak is happening on the bottom hose where it connects to that black thing that connects to the engine, im not sure if its the hose leaking or something around that area leaking coolant as everything was covered in crystalized green coolant, can anything around there apart from the hose leak coolant? its as if its been pissing out under pressure ( PRESSURE, pushing down on me pressing down on you, enough queen) im completely stumped by this and am not sure if i should replace the bottom hose or what, id upload a photo but im not sure how to.

cheers guys

much love

Probably the water pump leaking

Firstly clean the area and check for any splits in the hose and plastic fitting

Fill up the rad, Start up the car and go for a drive to build pressure and recheck for leaks.

You may need some axle stands or ramps to properly inspect

That black thing the hose connects to is the thermostat housing.

I would remove the hose, clean up the green stuff, then re install hose.

Check for cracked & broken bits also.

The thermostat also has a seal that could leak.

Try tightening the 2 bolts on the thermostat housing and the hose clamp also.

cheers mate, iv tightened those couple of bolts and the hose clamp, will be going to SCA tomorrow to get coolant so ill see tomorrow if tightening those couple of things has done anything, going to flush out the whole system and take the bottom hose off and check its condition, hopefully its just that. ill give you an update tomorrow

Hey mate. Might be just as easy while you're doing a flush , to pull the radiator out and take it to a radiator shop. They should be able to pressure test it for you for next to nothing (local guy I take mine to has put a few of my rads through his tank to check for nothing).

Very hard to diagnose a stuffed end tank until you go through replacing and checking everything, which is very time consuming and tricky (making sure you have no air pockets etc..).

I would do this first before replacing or spending any more money on coolant.

Good luck.

Dylan

Yes it's the little rubber ring that goes around the thermostat.

Maybe take it to a professional to pressure test the system as is.

No point going off assumptions from people on the internet and throwing parts at it.

It could save you money in the end.
