Hi Guys,

I'm having some stickiness in my gear shifts. I have 2 mechanics feeling the stickiness as well while they were working on other parts. Does anyone know what the Gen 3 B4 needs for shift bushes?

Are there aftermarket vendors that make the specific model? and or are they transplantable with any particular wrx model ?

Cheers,

Will

I believe most of the subaru 5MTs take the same bushes but wait for confirmation. I think carmodsaustralia sell them locally

Has anyone actually replaced the shift bushes? I'm trying to find out the part number. Or does anyone have a VIN number for a manual B4 I can use to call subaru on ?

All 5 speeds are the same, as long as yours was originally manual that should bring up the right part.

I don't have my vin handy right now. Was hoping to be able to give them a call. Also I heard some need the whole shift knuckle not just the bush.

That's the part number for the linkage/knuckle .

Car mods aus has the bush and rod support bush on their website.

Does that mean I need the knuckle, shift bush and rear rod support bush?

I replaced the linkage, the rear rod support and the big round bushes on the linkage.

I thought that was it?

Is the linkage required though? I mean to replace bushes and you just order the 4 bushes rear and big round ones ?

If it's not worn, Not really any need.

On the knuckle there is actually 2 of the bushes you can replace, but the ones enclosed in that 'uni' joint of it cannot. I just bought the whole thing to save the hassle.
