Same one I have. I have had it for nearly 12 months and it works like a champ.

I like how you can download all the poster art for your movies and tv shows.

I just use a plain external hard drive for the storage of my movies. What are the difference with these things? It acts like a media library? Is it just a fancy external hard drive?

 

My dad has one downstairs on the main TV which is getting pretty old to be honest so it'd be a good present to give him to upgrade it all. He has it connected to the house's network.

Not really Ash. Not any slower than any other media device I've used.

It's all about expectations though right? For $120 it certainly exceeds my expectations of a low end media device. Ideally I'd drop $1000 on a kick ass setup but for this price bracket they are great and do everything I want.

You'll still need to subscribe to a DNS provider like unblock-us or unlocator (about $50/year) and obviously the Netflix subscription ($9/month) too.

Yeah, i'm aware of those, unblock-us is probably to most popular and most trouble free I believe. Still trying to figure out why all those apps disappeared from my ATV2

Unlocator is slightly cheaper than unblock-us if you pay for 12 months.

I think it's bullshit, and I'm not even going to take the smug route for having Foxtel. Because I was so damn close to cancelling it once we got digital late last year - but thank fork I didn't.

 

Annoying thing is, the basic Foxtel package won't include FoxFooty, you'll need the Premium Sports package I believe.

If you love sports, you kind of need Foxtel now.
