i know what you mean Ash.  But decent tyres help too. From my experience going to RWD isn't bad like i thought it would be.  but the HSV's are a bit better than a run of the mill bommadore.

 

I love the torque of the v8, so easy to drive slow, don't even need to rev the thing over 2000rpm most of the time. its like 20psi power from idle. from idle to 4000rpm it makes a really nice deep tough V8 sound, once it hits 4000rpm you can hear the engine working and the note changes a bit more and it sounds like your riding in a V8 supercar.

 

I love it! :)

I guess you're right, I came from 8 years with just a Berlina, 1 VN and 7 VT, and it was pretty bad. So I can imagine something that is more set up for performance should be a lot better.

My next car maybe if a lady friend and kids come along would probably be a new clubsport R8 wagon. Unless subaru bring out a decent STI wagon.

 

I was looking at the VE if the Mrs got a Gen IV sedan.

TBH for the size of the car, the cargo area is small. Appears about the same as the GenIV, smaller than the VS I used to have.

guessing they were thin stock tyres too? the stock VF sv6 wagon i had in Gladstone was really nice to drive too. Not that I'm trying to take anything away from subarus awesome AWD handling :)
