has anyone got the dimensions or template to make a skidplate for a gc8 or 96-98 legacy ??

Grab an undertray from the wreckers and use as a template.

thinking of doing the same for my Gen4

I have an oem option one...... Never seen one til I bought it and not seen one for sale since. Its pressed steel.

Im after one of these. Will it fit a gen 2 legacy gt? Mine was missing when i bought it. Will it make any difference to the fitting that i have an ej257?

ya thats an e81 skid plate . ull need to make 2 cuts to fit the trans crossmember and two thin cuts on the rear side to clear the crossmember and sit flush


i have the stock plastic plate atm the gen 2 outback . if i sit that on some metal will it be accurate tho . id rather be able to measure it out :)

It bolted directly to my Gen2 withought mods.

Get a road stop sign and drill the holes for the mounts.

Does this sit lower than the plastic one? My car is on bilstiens so not to low but...

Cant say. I ripped the plastic one off straight away. 

 

My car is on coilovers and nearly tucks front tyre..... no issues.

Also check places like eBay/Gumtree etc. Secondhand "SubaXtreme" sump guards come up from time to time and they're airbag compliant.
