hi people

because im retarded i thought i might sand paper my headlights with 1200 grit sandpaper, then use a restoration kit on top of that, well anyway now one headlighted is hazy as fork, and the other headlight could do with some attention, is there any possible way i could get my headlights to that desirable clear look??

here's how forked they are now

i thought about clear coating them

one of the restoration kits with few grades of sandpaper and the a good spray sealant should do it but you need to put a lot of elbow grease into it. I did mine once and looked like balls but then re-did it and took around an hour of prep on each headlight and they came up perfect. I think I used a repco kit which comes with everything include the sealant in a small aerosol tin

Nah you need some sort of plastic restorer to get rid of the dullness from the sand paper.

Check out Morgans DIY on how to do it, on a gen 3 Aswell.

the repco kit has a restorer/sealer mix in the can. the lights like you've sprayed white paint on them after your done sanding but the second you hit it with the aerosol they go crystal clear

You normally start off with rough sandpaper like 1000 grit and wet sand...drip water with a hose over the headlight while sanding...
Then go up to 2000, 2500 grit and higher if possible..

Them finish off by buffing with plastic polish...then seal it in with wax or something. I have a bottle of meguairs plastx

Youll need to spend a bit of time at every step..something like 2mins buffing at a normal pace...the headlight wwill eventually become clear.
