The problem I see coming about the sound has to do with things like the fuel pressure regulations, they want the teams to rely more on things like KERS, essentially turning them into electric powered cars.

 

What's going to happen when the possibility of F1 does go electric, it may happen.

I know there is a lot more to it, but this is just one point.

i suppose its just the way of the future so to speak. will they go electric? one day more than likely, i cant see it being anytime soon though. 

personally i see the sound of an F1 car as being on of the signatures of the cars, without it it is a bit of a let down. no doubt they will come up with a remedy

 

the fuel flow regulations is something that is really annoying me at the moment. F1 seems to like over complicating things in my opinion. 

they are telling the teams they can only use a maximum of 100kg of fuel per race. fair enough. i have no issue with that. but they are over complicating it by saying that they have maximum flows. 

why not just say heres 100kg of fuel, thats all you can use this race, do with it as you will. its still a level playing field and no advantage nor disadvantage to any team.

I do like the idea with the fuel, just let them have it and they have to decide how to use it, a far better way than what is happening at the moment.

apparently normally in Melbourne you can hear them all throughout the city when they are running, this year could barely hear them on one side of the track. i do know at eastern creek, when the car was on the opposite side of the track you could certainly hear it screaming, and its a fantastic sound i reckon, a signature of motorsport itself. now like you say they sound like a grumpy camel, even on the TV i think they sound alot quieter than last year, which means i have to listen to Martin Brundles voice more.

Yep, I live 20km from Albert Park, and depending on the wind, you were able to hear them from here, not so this year.

It's promising news, I don't want to get my hopes up, but it would be a shame to lose him to something like this.

Whether you are a Formula 1 fan or not, I just watched the best documentary/movie being "1", it opens your eyes to the sport about how dangerous it can be.

I won't lie, the moment they began on Ayrton Senna I cried, because I watched that race, I was 12 for the record, I remember the incident like it was yesterday, and it's horrifying and makes you think about your own mortality.

 

Also, I found this documentary from watching the previews of 'Rush'. I'm not a movie person, however I can tell you now that Ron howard got it spot on about the Lauda/Hunt rivalry, it's a great film.

Yep, a lot was left out of 'Rush' however it is pointed out.

 

Legendary rivalry, only wish Hunt was still around today.
