You should be able to replace the horn bracket with one that has the mounts or get agricultural and screw through the plastic base with some short screws which I did in a rush pre HVC. You cant tell though unless you put your face in the gap between the shround and the wheel with a torch

You lost me at agricultural. Haha.
It's tempting, but I'm willing to hold out to come up with a 'like factory' mounting solution. Either that or I'll keep an eye out for a legacy wheel ;-)

Wow,  what an awesome difference the black trim & dark grey carpet make.  I'll have a look for some black trim plugs for the sills, we might get lucky, I had a few but I gave a bunch to Cam for the GT30.

Awesome update mate.

Coming along very well mate :)

Awesome update. Can confirm the JDM GD MOMO wheels have the bracket for cruise stalk so all is needed is cutting the hole.

There's a mint full set of etune II door cards, rear seat and front seats on Yahoo Japan. All seperate auctions but each is below $100 starting.

That's good to know about the wheel.

Mint you say... Hmm it's tempting.
Do you normally use container shipping or something else Mark?
Or do you just choose the $0 upfront shipping and then pay once the items get to import monster?
The estimator can be a little off putting.

Hey Luke,

The wags is looking damn fine, the black stuff looks so much better.

Changing that dash insert bit, around the glove box is such bugger of a job, if you don't remove the whole dash.

It'd be a royal pain without removing the airbag for sure! But with it removed I didn't find it too difficult.
The fact that I've had almost every part of this thing apart probably distorts my interpretation of 'a bugger of a job' haha

I use container. I put everything in A category and they adjust it a little when I pick up. ;)

Nice work man!

I find nothing more satisfying than making the interior that little bit neater. Especially as you say, it's where you spend 99% of the time.

It's amazing how much better a black interior comes up compared to the crappy pooh grey.

It inspires me when summer comes around to pull out my carpet/headlining and go to town.

So the car is booked in for paint next week!
I'd love to do the whole thing but it'll just be the bonnet front guards and replacement front bar.
They're also going to straighten out the passenger side corner as the light and guard alignment are gap city.
I'm so sick of the ghetto spec colour scheme haha.

Back on the interior theme, I'm going to be picking up a black faced cluster this weekend and wanted to ask around about changing the odometer reading on the new cluster. While most of the car has been replaced, if much rather keep the original kms.
The car currently has 215,000 but the new cluster has 150,000 so there should be nothing suss about getting someone to change it. Has anyone done this?

It's back!

The whole front has been repainted and I'm super happy with the work. The front left corner has also been straightened out so the headlight and guard sit nice and flush.

Before:

After:

But there was one minor setback; while the car was at the shop, the AC belt tensioner came loose and made a mess of the front timing cover.

cKEDsH3l.jpg

At first I thought it was just the cover but as soon as I went to pick the car up and took a look, I saw that it's actually rubbed against  the timing belt

vqJKaw7l.jpg

The belt was new but I don't want to risk running a compromised belt so I picked up a new one.

I'm still not sure how the tensioner came loose as I normally just loosen off the two mount bolts to remove the belt (saves re-tensioning) but I'm in the process of putting it back together now.

Paint looks good. Who did you get to do it and if you don't mind me asking, how much? Because I pretty much have to get the exact same painted lol

Simply smashing in West Gosford did the work.

It's hard to say how much because the bonnet and guard had damage.
They split the skin off the bonnet and properly fixed the damage.
I paid an extra $300 for painting the front bar, a replacement mirror and straightening out the corner. The total repair cost was just over $2K.

I'd love to see their faces if you showed up at the same place haha!

Cheers man.
And as for AC, we're not all as cool as you Matty.
Plus I don't like the idea of being in a hot car and in hot water with the wifey for making her drive it lol
