Hi my clutch is slipping majorly in my my02 liberty ej20 awd sedan.
Just wondering ive been told there are two types of clutches one with a dual mass flywheel.
Is there a way to tell what's in mine with out first removing the transmission.

If it has a turbo it is a SMF, if its a standard non turbo its a DMF.

I'm not sure what the 2.0 had... I'm 99% sure the 2.5 RX had the DMF.

In any case, get the SMF. They are interchangable and it will be better in the long run ;)

My B4 had a dual mass piece of crap... If your car has one ditch it! any good clutch place will have a flywheel readily available as long as you are doing it during the week... saturday arvo job could bite you in da ass.   or buy a second hand one off a wrecker cheap and have it machined ready to go for when you pull it apart
