I think IIRC they spray the car with dots that are unique to your car so if it's stolen they scan the panels and can match it to your carWhat is datadot exactly lol

I thought the OEM caliper bolts were gold passivate plated.
So there you go!
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

BBOD and battery hold down were scratched and a bit unsightly. Sandblasted and painted in the obligatory satin black. While apart I cleaned all the hoses and solenoids out.
Remove all yellow fluid caps and parts bathed so they have no dirt/grease on them.
Power Steering reservoir was dirty inside so removed, cleaned out thoroughly and flushed the system. Now you can actually see the fluid level.
Very happy with the presentation of the engine bay now. Everything neat and tidy. STi Genome strut brace coming in a week. Paint the mounts satin black and I reckon the engine bay is done.

A job well done as usual. The engine bay is looking REAL nice.
What did you use to clean/bathe the yellow caps?
Wanting to buy/looking for: single genuine STi rim, genuine STi front lip, Corazon or Zero/Sports grille and another OEM grille

Whatever solution is in the parts bath at work.

Ha ha, I was thinking degreaser or something. Mine are getting a little ratty especially on the oil cap. And no problems with the underside of the caps or did you just remove those bits?

Its some environmentally friendly industrial stuff. Works well. Removed the caps and cleaned them along with any gaskets/seals/o rings attached.
You forgot to spray the hose connector bracket on the bbod.
Purposefully left to match the other brackets in the bay that are the oem plated gold color.

Sounds hardcore. I guess degreaser and/or WD40 might be the way to go for me.
