Mmm, I can feel the love boys.

Soon, I got a week off @ end of Sep, so fingers crossed.

The knock correction is the ignition timing correction value. Some of the Aussie B4s will run a minus figure for that value. 17 bits of data is pretty lame when you benchmark it against a Select Monitor. I can grab some screengrabs from a TT Subaru to show you if needed.

Suby - just noticed this.

FreeSSM pulls much more than the 17 pieces of data shown in my grab.  It lists "20 data" and "31 switches" - presumably all it can see on the bus.

Those 17 are just the ones I picked for display.

woot woot..  15psi on twins in third gear, slightly less (13-15) on primary. Get that at some point in 2-2500rpm.

Seems to be more like 10-12 on primary, 10 on twins at lower speeds (though in the lower gears, it goes past pretty quick, and there's a wee tiny restrictor pill in my boost gauge line giving it heaps of damping, so the transient may not register).

Need to be careful with the test range and not attract the attention of the rozzers.

Bit of McLovin' this afternoon. Finally got around to compound and polishing the $20 paint job on the bonnet. I'm not entirely happy with it, but its better than white or primer.

Gave the rest of the car a quick polish and wax (bar the roof, which needs a good clean with a claybar, I think)

Looking good mate. Colour coding and nice set of black 17's would finish her off nicely but it's all time and money.......

Did you fit TBE's?

HID's make much diff?

Exhaust is standard dumps, hacked H6 center and mild steel 2.5" diffback with straight-through oval muffler.   A little arse-about in sizes, but the sound puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.

HIDS are great. Illumination is much improved, and I like the sharp beam cutoff.  Had to change out the parkers for LED's 'cos they looked so shit after the change.

Have certainly been thinking black and 17" for the rims - more tyre choices and 215/55 is only 0.5% out. 17" WRX rims can be had pretty cheap.

Ok thanks for that. Ive upgraded my globes but might look at acquiring some HIDs as I do a fair bit of night driving. I tried some wrx 17s on my car, they look ok but a wider wheel or one with less offset to push them out a bit looks better due to the flares IMO. It's all about stance yo....

Best oem WRX rim for an Outback is the 17 x 8 +53 one imo.

City or country?  HIDs don't help the shitty high beams, they're standard halogen.

Thanks for the info guys,
I thought 7.5 was the widest they did in 5x100 pcd. The old man is wrong again !
Next question, do they clear early wrx 4 pot calipers ??

Bollocks!

I just swapped in the outback dropped rear shifter bush mount, as I mistakenly used the legacy/lib one when I fixed up the rooted shift bushings and put the short shifter in - the shifter was just hitting the transmission tunnel hole when pushed hard to the left (1st/2nd).

No bloody good. The outback mount, which drops the pivot down, now has the shifter way back, and it hits the rear of the opening when shifting into second. Its also weirdly low/short.

The lib mount had a much better position. I'll have to change it back and look at where its hitting - might be the through-bolt, in which case I can do something about it.

The mount is a knut to swap over - no room to poke around - took me half an hour of crawling around on my back. Bollocks!
