I have a Turbosmart type 3 BOV fitted, which I suspect it leaking boost once I hit about 15psi. Can someone tell me if this is a possibility, and I need a different spring, or do I keep looking?

I think tuning is a crime of passion, or maybe a labour of love. Either way it furiates and excites me.

How is it plumbed?

1 line from the manifold or are there lines T'd into the line from the BOV?

I have mine shimmed up with 20 cents.

2 x 10c pieces.

Yes it's possible. Wastegate spring rate of 15psi?

It has it's own line off the manifold. Same spot as standard bov I am pretty sure. Nothing teed off it.

It is adjustable from 'hard, to soft' and I haven't adjusted it back to hard, but it seemed delayed in opening on hard, like it didn't open once I lifted my foot, more like it opened a split second after the throttle was closed.

I have only had experience with my ca18 Turbo, but I'm fairly sure it shouldn't hesitate for so long and shouldn't vent almost as soon as I lift my foot enough to create a pressure difference to make it open right?

Will try the shimming it though. Great idea. Not sure on pressure, but I think it has yellow paint, which could be 7psi. - that's more my question. It the bov spring supposed to be set to the psi you're running, or does it not matter because under boost conditions it has equal pressure on both sides so it shouldn't open?

You only need to shim it up if you cant adjust it any tighter.

Just slap some coffee change in it dude, they love it. But make sure it's not too tight.

Thing is it flutters for a slight second before I opens. It's not like it's loose. But I'll screw it down hard and see if I still get boost drop

Are you using the stock boost controller or aftermarket?

Aftermarket Jimbo. I found the problem... My EBC

I am still tuning it, It will boost up to 22psi now - even though it's set at 14.5.

BOV also vents on pedal release instantly also. Just need to nut out the setting on EBC.
