Gents,
Pulled the cluster apart today to give it a clean and see if i could remove this magical "green film" behind the speedo cards. Anyway long story short, i pulled off the speedo needle and re-installed it to where i'm sure it was (resting on the stopper) and i think i forked up.
The needle moves strangely now and i think it's reading 10-15kmph above but definately not the correct speed. Shouldn't have tried to take it off
Anyone know how to re-calibrate the needle or is just a matter of taking it off and putting it back on until it's right?
Kinda forked up my speedo

I approached it with the mentality not to fark it up, take it slow and don't break anything.
Nekminnut.
I so would have thought the needles would have had like a locator tab or something so it can't be placed back on incorrectly and put the speedo out. Fark sake, Subaru, what are you people doing in there?

After attaching the needle try winding the needing clockwise all the way to the stopper and see if it springs back...
I did this in my old corolla and it worked. Not sure if it will do the same

yeaap... tried that. I think i really disturbed it. If i speed up a bit and then slow down quickly the needle is still catching up to the speed i was doing and then slowly floats down to where i should be... shitsfarked.

Never touch the needle is all I have to say to people contemplating doing something in the future...

They probably weren't imagining us pulling them apart piece by piece
Regardless, that sucks

You best bet would be to take it to a speedo shop.
I don't know about nsw but I only know of one here in vic. Old school guy that repairs and rebuilds them for rare cars etc.
You might have luck spinning it up 15km holding the pin. Removing the needle and putting it back on at 0 but that's a pure guess..
I've always kept the needles on for this exact reason.
