Gen 2 factory keyless is shit anyway.
I suggest starting with the wiring diagram that came with the new kit, and getting your hands on a service manual from someone on here and starting that way.

The diagram on the new kit doesn't tell me which wires correspond with my car

Correct. You would need a service manual to show you all the colours to begin with.
Is it central locking only?
I think from memory, the drivers side acutuator would be "master" so really your new kit should only need to be hooked into that one.

Not that it's heaps of help but they're is a wire in the drivers kick panel. Activating that triggers the Central locking.
The cheat way is to pull the door card on the drivers door. Trace the wires from the drivers lock solenoid. Use a multimeter and check which ones power on when you manually lock the door.
Locking the drivers door should lock all the other doors.
The other thing is under the knee panel is a central locking unit. But as SubyDR mentioned is a very unique setup in the aus rx's
Stupid IR central locking.
Worst design of the lot
