Surely you would just wire it into whatever tells the dash to illuminate the particular "door open" icon. Assuming the N/A spec cars got individual sensors to distinguish which doors are left open.

Yeah has  all door indicators on the dash like all of them did, I think suby dr is right, diff door looms, but that shouldn't stop it being done surely Subaru in all there wisdom didn't make completely different looms for each car there must be similar aspects to ancillaries like that.

Unfortunately they did make different door looms, mate.

You'll have to tap into the loom to the door open switch. I'll be doing the same when I get time.

Yeah I thought as much silly buggers. Any ideas how you are going to go about it mate and where to plug into. Hypothetically if I had both door looms from the wreck and just took from the kick panel big white connectors back out to the door with all the door wiring and fitted them in mine would that work or the actual loom in the car missing them as well?

It would be more trouble than it's worth to change the door wiring. I'm just going to trace the wiring back from the door open switch on the B pillar to the footwells and tap into those there. I think the door open switches are a basic earth set up so will probably have to grab some power from around there too. There's an un used plug for some JDM option near the steering column.

I retrofit mine on the gen 2.

Grabbed the wire from the door switch which is the earth, then a positive that I found in the footwell.

It's not very descriptive, but just explains how sine it is :) I also copied Cruisin's idea of putting a diode in so the light comes in with the corresponding door open only

Do gen 3s have the cutout and mounts in the door already like gen 2s do?
