Hi Everyone,

Recently, I've started to have some issues starting my GEN3 Liberty.

It's intermittent though, It won't happen every day and it only seems to happen in the morning.

I wouldn't necessarily think that the outside temperature would be a factor has I haven't had issues starting on cold nights.

It will start run for a few seconds and then cut.. after a few times it will eventually start.

Hey Sam,

I'm with SubyDr on this one.

I just watched the vid. Not half asleep like Cam, Ha ha

We get this shit all the time @ work (Holden scum).

Missing or faulty transponder chip, Security module maybe but you would check the cheaper things first.

Needs a Subaru Select reader to check out the system.

But as the car won't move / drive, this will be a problem.

I have a spare key, attempted using it for a week.. which didn't make a difference. The issue still occurred intermittently.

It started fine this morning.

I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and pay for a diagnosis from Subaru.
I just didn't know how far down the rabbit hole I'll end up.

Could it be the aerial around the ignition switch or wiring to it?

Sam, check the Neg terminal on your battery isn't loose first before you move on.

Been there, done that  :D

Did you confirm that the immobiliser key light comes on solid when the car cuts out?
