Hi, I have a my02 inpreza rx 2.0 na.
Was running fine drove to work in morning all good on way home stalled at lights. When I start back up idles fine for 5 seconds then idle starts Going up and down dramatically.
It is an auto and when pulling up to light's goes to stall only way of saving it is put in neutral snd hold revs up...
Thinking bad fuel as car has sat for 3 weeks on 1/4 tank.
noticed slight pinging on acceleration too.
any ideas?
ive checked vacuum lines.etc.

I don't think they run an AFM on those engines. To me, it sounds like a vacuum leak. When you take off and drive normally is it fine? Has it thrown a CEL?

Thats what I thought but cannot find any sign of it.no cel.drive fine after takeoff but can sort of feel a slight miss when accelerating but almost not noticeable.
At idle goes up and down drastically. .and pops out of muffler like massive back pressure.

Changed plugs, fuel filter, cleaned iac and throttle body...still same..
Think I can hear a vacuum leak drivers side front of intake mmanifold. There is a vacuum solenoid blue in colour with two ports on it. .no obvious leak but could be it..if not intake off new gaskets.im out of ideas.it just happend all of a sudden.
