Subaru has given its BRZ coupe a retro makeover with a limited edition model arriving in showrooms from November.
The Japanese brand has released details of a Special Edition BRZ that features old-school GT stripes over its body and a host of upgraded performance parts from STI that it claims adds up to $9000 worth of value on cars fitted with the manual transmission for an additional $3500 over the price of the regular BRZ.
It has confirmed an initial run of 125 vehicles, each costing from $40,650 driveaway in manual form.
Apart from the obvious stripe package, the Special Edition BRZ features unique 17-inch alloy wheels, boot lid spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser and STI-branded push button starter. For cars with the six-speed manual transmission, there's also a short shift kit and specific gear knob from its performance brand.
"This Special Edition represents tremendous value as it combines the recently announced MY15 enhancements, including suspension tweaks, with some fantastic kit that only adds to its outstanding on-road presence and reputation," said Subaru Australia's managing director, Nick Senior.
The Special Edition will be available to order through both Subaru's retail network as well as its website.
