Hey guys i have a Bugeye WRX and am looking to upgrade to a newer Subaru. I was wondering what the main differences is between the 2 generations. Advantages and Disadvantages of both? I have roughly 20-25k to spend.

Depends on personal taste really. Dad sold his 09 WRX with 76k km on it for about $22k early this year. With $25k, you could easily get a decent late model WRX.
The MY11+ has the wide body which looks so much better. Not sure how much they are going for these days though?
GDs are always fun. Not as powerful as the 09s but they’re basically the same as your Bugeye so all parts are interchangeable.

09 hands down. better suspension, better base for power mods (VF52), looks are subjective.

I thought the 09+ had a more family car feel to them and as a result took a bit of a hit in the steering feel/body roll area

09 was way more sedate than any previous generation but was damn fast in the quarter mile.... I do prefer the widebody of the 11+ however.....

You could get a Hawkeye CS9 or Peanut eye STi for $25k, if you want something a little different.
09 looks fine though, especially with Enkeis. Not as good as MY11 but i'd rather an 09 over a Hawkeye.

Im from Wyong on the Central Coast. I have to wait a few more months to get off my p's. The reason i'm looking now is because if i want to buy a hawkeye I'll buy some mods for the bugeye that can be swapped over. But if i want to get an 09 i'd just save the money

coming from a bugeye im sure you know but In the gd (hawlkeye) wrx sedan and sti the back seats dont fold down. screwed me over when i bought mine.

Have you put any more thought into squeezing some more power out of the engine. Like strapping on one of those intake fans

Blue bugeye? Only p-plated wrx I've seen up this end of town.
