Castrol DEX3.

Dump, Fill, Drive for 15mins.
Dump, Fill, Drive for another 15mins.
Dump, Fill, Drive and double check the level in park with the car running when you are done.

All DEX3 is the same. The cleaner/cooler it is, The better it performs :)

I'll be replacing my transmission fluid next service as well. Would you recommend the same stuff Cam?

Yours takes fancy Transmax fluid, Gaz. A little bit more expensive but that's what it calls for.

I'm happy with that.

What are the obvious results of replacing transmission fluid?

Sorry to hijack, Mark.

You will sleep better at night? :P

It will prolong the life of the transmission, Clean trans fluid ='s a happy trans.
And just like the oil in your car engine, automatic transmission fluid (ATF) suffers from heat, friction and electrochemical degradation. Once this process starts, your transmission's vital parts begin to clog with sludge and form varnish deposits.

Clean ='s efficient transmission operation.

I've had my ATF recently changed over to some Elf/Total stuff my mechanic uses and the shifts are a lot better.....

You're a machine.

I like knowing specifics about things if you haven't noticed, ha ha. Bad habit may be?

Bit more responsive after a change. About the only thing I notice, maybe a tad smoother. I think whatever was in it before was smoother up the box when it was new, personally. Had it done a few weeks ago.

Don't know what went in, likely it was Castrol though. Bright red in colour. Mine can be a bit uncomfortable with the power button off between first and second sometimes, it changes like 'fork yeah we're racing' but really I'm not - I just want to keep up with the Micra ahead of me.

Sorry to hijack Mark, this thread is useful for me as I plan to do the same very shortly, but... My auto box has a dipstick either side of it. What the actual? Mine's a Rev-A so it has the staggered style shift.

The little dip stick is your front diff
So gear oil

The big one is your auto (should have a tube coming from the tunnel somewhere)
So auto fluid
