I do sell Blouch and do sell PW, But that has nothing to do with me suggesting them.. that is why i said him getting a TMIC or FMIC atm for his stock internals is pointless.

 

i know they may be twice the price but i think also the way the car drives has a big bearing on what parts you get.

 

the Kando etc turbos are a VERY GOOD RELIABLE turbo, strong and cant beat them for value for money.

 

Out of curisoity what does your 20G hit full boost by?

For a budget build, Kando turbo's are still pretty good, the parts your talking about are twice the price of the cheaper products.

And your not getting twice the advantage from them.

 

All the mods can be done on a budget with similar results, do you sell blouch and pw coolers?

 

My car has 200atw, the fmic did not make it less responsive, mathematically there is 200ms of lag, but its not noticeable, and it now has a better torque curve, all the fmic's i have put on cars have made them punch harder, this isnt opinions its just real world experiece on my cars.

 

I agree with you on the bigger injectors from the get go definately though.

If that is the case fair enough...

 

But i do know KIDO tunes are done also ia Emails... if he does in the car so be it.. but i still stand by the Internet Tunes are asking for trouble

 

 

Just to make it clear, I live just around the corner from Matt from KIDO so it is not an internet tune at all. He plugs his laptop into my ecu and either road tunes it or dyno tunes it. I will be getting him to Dyno tune it after these mods are done. 

 

In the meantime until I do get the Kinugawa TD05 18g 7cm and some bigger injectors, I have found that my current dump pipe and cat have minor air leaks in them and will need to be replaced asap. If I was to get a custom 3" Stainless exhaust (its after the 02 sensors) would I still be ok to make boost or would I have to run wastegate pretture until the tune? 

 

No wonder my car is feeling powerless at the moment.

FMIC on a car that has a small turbo we have proven that there is no real benefit and the car is not as responsive.

I didnt say its laggy, i said its NOT AS responsive.. and yes you do get good top end..  But it also depends on WHAT 20G your talking about.. are you talking about the Taiwanese Kinguawa, Zage, Kando 20G  (all the same turbo from the same factory in TW) or Blouch 20G or Tomei 20G.. those 3 turbos are so far apart its not funny.

 

Blouch 18G will out perform power, faster responce and more torque then the Kingauwa etc or Tomei 20Gs.. that is proven on all subaru forums.

 

a PROCESS WEST TMIC on a car that doesnt make 230kw or more is not beneficial... and once again proven.. so going a FMIC as much as i may decrease temps it also decreases responsiveness..  Once again proven.

FMIC is not needed for cars under 270kw@wheels.. even then their are cars out there with PW TMIC making 300kw@wheels.

There are cars out there with 250kw@wheels still utilizing Stock TMIC from the STIs.....

Whilst he has a STOCK Engine, with no internal, a FMIC is simply pointless

IMHO i would save the extra $$$$ even if it takes you 6 mths and do it right the first time.. If you dont youll regret it.

 

Here is what i would do..

 

Blouch 18G XT

ID1000 or 725.. really doesnt matter.

Silcon inlet

Tune

 

Why ID1000s over STI Injectors.. 1, the flow evenly and will give better idoling then sti injectors.. specially on start up. IDs are proven and work.

 

Why Blouch. I would never go a 20G on a EJ257 unless it has Dual AVCs.. itll be not overly responsive. The 18G will spool AS FAST as a VF34, Make 20% more power and come on boost very very hard.

Silicon inlet is a no brainer, pointless doing other mods with out it.. itll choke the turbo.

 

Tune.. Stay away from these internet tunes. They dont know the age of your car, the engines life , EVERY CAR is differnet, so how can they tune a car over the net. They say you can go back and get revisions and keep going back and forth and back and forth till its right... WHY??? do it once and walk away.. never have to worry about it.. AND if for some reason the engine pops, will KIDO warrant the engine due to their stuff ups??? MSR will 100% if its his fault.

 

unless you go a Dom 1.5 or bigger a FMIC is a total waste of time... Zero gain and zero point.. STI TMIC is good for 230-240kw@wheels.. if u want something bigger, PROCESS WEST TMIC
