Hi Code, thanks for the detailed response, and apologies for not getting back to you sooner.
I don't think it's a neutral or gearbox induced problem, as once the error light comes on, it stays on until the ecu is reset. It's not coming on and off as you described above.
I eventually took another look at it this afternoon and found the intake pipe had a large crack on the T-piece that goes to the BOV, so this could very likely be the cause.
For now I've silicon'd it up. I'm heading out to the velodrome tonight for some track racing, so I'll do an ECU reset on the way once the car is warmed up and see if this has fixed the problem before I order a new intake.
