Sucks to here happened to my mate after he just resprayed his wrx, usually if u can feel the groove of the scratch it does mean respray, but u could make it less obvious by giving it a light rub with 2000grit then 3000grit sandpaper followed by a compound polish but be careful no to rub through the clear coat
