A few Gen II TT questions

23 September 2012 - 08:47 AM

Ok, the problem is when I put the car in "Park" the desplay on the dash lights up "Park" and also lights up but not quite as bright the "Nuetral" position at the same time, the car is a gen II Lib that if have done a gen II TT conversion to, I have fitted the complete harness and all original parts accept the "t-bar", none of the harness has been cut or molestered in any way, Is it possible it could be doing this because it is supposed to have the "T-Bar" with the park lock button thingy near the stick maybe as I only have the stock NA T-Bar ?

It is doing a few other minor strange things to if anyone has any advice on them.

1.When the ignition is on the rear fog lights in the tailgate go permanently, easy to fix, I know , just wondering why.

2. The interior light wont turn on when the doors are open, the ring around the key and the door display on the dash not working either, the interior light turns on manually though, however, when I open the doors, the light in the luggage compartment turns on.

It all worked in the car I took it out of and I havent changed anything so it really has me puzzled.

Not big problems, I know, just annoying.

Higher stall

26 July 2012 - 08:23 AM

Hi, has anyone had much to do with higher stall torque converters, I am building a 97 twin turbo Outback with the VTD auto for offroad use, I have over 20 years experience with offroafing manual Subys, but this is my first auto, I want a higher stall to make up for not having a low range and was thinking of getting a torque converter with a stall of around 3500 rpm but must still retain the factory lockup, I have no idea exactly what the factory TT one is, but I think its about 2700 or 2800rpm. Has anyone had a torque converter modified, whats it cost, where to get it done or should I even get it done. I am new to autos so any info will be appreciated.
