My saga when buying my New XV

12 September 2012 - 03:43 PM

I was just reading a thread on a guy who's Mrs just bough a VW Polo and the issues they had. I too recently bought a new car (Tangerine Suby XV) and had a crap experience.

I won’t name the dealership, however they are located at Liverpool in Sydney.

As I was driving from Canberra to Sydney to view the Suby (with a prearranged trade price for my old car), I made an appointment with the salesperson to ensure I wasn’t waiting all day and could drive but to the ACT before dark.

I arrived at the prearranged time and was warmly greeted by everyone that I met. However, that’s where all the good news ends. I was then left for two hours before the sales person came over and wanted to discuss figures. I hadn’t even been offered a test drive yet.... Begrudging the sales person organised a test drive for me. Once back at the dealership I was then left again for 15-20 minutes before we started talking figures... We sat down and the salesperson wrote the buy price down, followed by my trade price, LESS THAN HALF WHAT THEY HAD ALREADY OFFERED?!?

I stood up, gave the salesperson a serve and proceeded to leave the building. It took another 15 minutes to get back to what we agreed on before we did the deal.

So three hours later I'm driving home to Canberra and trying to tune the radio with no success. I get out of the car at the servo and realise, NO ANTENNA!

It’s now taken two weeks to get an antenna from the yard...

That people, is the Short version. The car is GREAT, the service is less than POOR.
