So a GenIII?

If it's a light 'clacking' sound that is slower than the crank speed, it may just be the hydraulic lifters need to bleed out some air.
This should take care of itself.

If the belt drives the oil pump (I cant remember but I think it does) there may be a slim chance the oil seal is allowing air to enter the oiling system causing the lifters to get noisy.

What sort of Subaru/engine??

After a drive, does the engine have the same power as before?



An EJ25, yeah it feels really smooth to drive. no loss of power. im thinking it might just be the sound of the valves. Cant be sure though..

I was working on mind not long ago. IIRC there are only four bulbs that light the dash and rings as shown above ^^.
Just have a go at swapping the T10 wedges to something blue and see if that works.

I have heard you can actually swap the whole thing for a B4 cluster but its a royal pain in the arse and would cost a bit more. Looks awesome though.
